Friends can't change relations with the country at anyone's request, America is ready to move forward, Moeed Yousaf
ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security Moeed Yousuf has said that the Afghan civil war will be to the detriment of Pakistan as well. So that there is no bloodshed.
Talking to ARY News' special transmission on the situation in Afghanistan, Moeed Yousaf said, "Afghanistan still has a long way to go. The United States has decided to withdraw its forces. Now the Taliban and the Afghan government must work together." It must be decided that the matter will not lead to bloodshed.
"The civil war in Afghanistan will hurt Pakistan. We want a peaceful solution because it is in Pakistan's interest," he said.
Moeed Yousaf said: "The Taliban have established themselves on the battlefield and now they are moving forward using the force of war. And the current situation is a reflection of that.
"The Doha talks must continue so that the issue does not escalate into bloodshed. Pakistan cannot be separated from the Afghan process. If anyone facilitates, there is no objection," he said.
"Now it is difficult for the Taliban to join the Afghan government because they are no longer in a government partnership. The Afghan side must come together and find a solution that is acceptable to all. The Afghan Taliban have a hand in the war," he said. Yes, the position the Taliban are in today is that they have not seen themselves so powerful in the last twenty years.

The National Security Adviser said that the question is whether the Afghan Taliban want to secede again, if they want relations to be restored then there is room for dialogue, no country has played such a dynamic role in facilitating the Afghan peace process more than Pakistan. No, we don't mind if someone else plays this role now because Pakistan's interests are linked to Afghanistan.
Moeed Yousaf said, "Keep in mind that there is an offer to give a base to the United States. Pakistan wants to improve relations with the United States in all areas without any preconditions and the United States wants the same." Yes, we are discussing various issues and improving relations with the United States. We have to put forward our point of view and see how many things are acceptable to us.

"When a vacuum is created, someone will come to take over. This is the situation of the civil war that we want to prevent. We cannot change the nature of relations with any other country at the behest of anyone, even China. I can't say yes, there was a lack of practical defense government in Pakistan, but it has been worked on in the last few years.
"The good news is that the Americans are also talking about moving forward instead of behind, but the bad news is that the lack of confidence will not end overnight, it will take time," he said.
